VSM 300 Secondary / Drying Deck Screens Explained

In the VSM 300 shaker, the secondary screen (also called drying screen) is installed on the bottom deck. Its function is different from scalping or primary screens:

  • Scalping screen (top deck): Removes large cuttings.

  • Primary screen (middle deck): Handles bulk solids removal.

  • Secondary / Drying screen (bottom deck): Recovers valuable drilling fluid while drying solids for disposal.

This makes the secondary/drying screen an essential part of the drilling mud solids control system.
